A Visit to Sapsucker Woods
This van trip leaves early so we can reach Sapsucker Woods in time for a guided bird walk. The Sanctuary has more than four miles of trails that wind through a variety of habitats. After our hike we will take time to visit the Johnson Center for Birds and Biodiversity that houses the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. The Visitor Center has an expansive wall of windows where we'll enjoy views of Sapsucker Woods Pond and the Treman Bird Feeding Garden. We can test our knowledge of birds and learn more about them by visiting the interactive exhibits and interpretive panels. Afterwards we can shop in Wild Birds Unlimited choosing from an extensive selection of optics, books, audio guides, jewelry, clothing and other gifts for bird enthusiasts. Participants should bring a lunch.
