The Friends of Beaver Lake are sponsoring an amateur photo contest to capture the beauty and diversity of Beaver Lake. Entries will be judged in the following age groups: 11 & under 12-17 years old 18 & over. Winning entries will be displayed at Beaver Lake from September 8-30.

This five day course is an advanced training experience for kids serious about becoming a lifeguard one day to refine their swim stroke, learn about water safety, and become certified in CPR and First Aid. Open 12-14 year olds. Pre-requisite: Intro to Lifeguarding.

On Tuesdays, Beaver Lake Nature Center is offering weekly Nature On Wheels tours on. Nature On Wheels features the NOWmobile, a new electric tram that helps connect with mobility limitations to the fascinating natural areas of Beaver Lake. Each excursion allows about ninety minutes to tour through the Center's diverse habitats. Accompanied by a naturalist, the NOWmobile will travel slowly through the forest, stopping occasionally to take a closer look at interesting features of nature.
