Participate in a free beginner's fishing clinic hosted by NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and Carpenter’s Brook Fish Hatchery. Spend the first hour in four 15-minute instructional sessions followed by casting practice and fishing in the pond.
In addition to casting a rod and catching fish, participants will learn about fish identification, fishing equipment and techniques, cooking and cleaning fish, fisheries management, angling ethics, aquatic ecology, and more! No freshwater fishing license is required during the event, and all equipment and bait will be provided for free.
