Onondaga County Parks is excited to announce the 8th Annual Parks Photo Contest which has moved to the most colorful season of them all...FALL. The contest will kick off on October 1 and run through October 31, 2026 and once again, Syracuse City Parks is joining in on the fun. Participants will be able to scout out the best locations in Onondaga County Parks including Beaver Lake Nature Center, Highland Forest, Oneida Shores and Onondaga Lake Park along with the multitude of City Parks found throughout Syracuse in search of an award-winning photograph.
Photographers of all abilities are invited to enter for a chance to win prizes in four categories including Best Fall Activity (new), Best Landscape, Best Portrait & Most Artistic. New this year, there will be one Adult (ages 18 & up) winner and one Youth (ages 17 & under) winner chosen per category. In addition, all valid entries will be eligible to win the People's Choice Award, which will be selected via an online vote. The contest is free to enter with a limit of two entries per participant.
To be eligible, photos must be taken at any OPEN Onondaga County Park or Syracuse City Park during the contest period of October 1-31, 2026. Regular admission rates, if applicable, will apply. Photo contest entries will only be accepted via an online application and are due by 4 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2026.
