Will Zoo Be My Valentine?

Visit the zoo on Sunday, February 12 for our Sweet Treats event, and watch as our beloved animals receive heart-themed enrichment gifts. You don’t want to miss this heartwarming event — where else do you get the chance to see a Giant Pacific Octopus receive his Valentine’s day present?

All day long, guests can listen to informative Keeper Chats, while watching our animals receive special Valentine treats and heart-shaped enrichment items. Each enrichment gift is specific to the animal receiving it, and our keepers will provide context to the Valentine’s gifts. Some of our most popular animals, such as the Humboldt penguins, Asian elephants, and Komodo dragon, will be featured throughout the day in this event. Keepers will present enrichment items to animals based on the schedule below, ensuring that guests won’t miss out on seeing their favorite critters receive their Valentine’s. This event is free with membership or paid admission, and all proceeds support our continued conservation mission.
