Join a Naturalist from the comfort of your own home as they cover a variety of natural history topics. Go on virtual tours with a guide and explore the wonders of Beaver Lake’s beautiful and varied habitats! View the program on the Nature Center's Facebook page or at

In the 1900s, Beaver Lake was owned by Judge Vann. Through conservation efforts he tried to make the lake more inviting for Canada Geese and other waterfowl. He created a series of narrow canals through the swamps on the west side of Beaver Lake. Today one is used as a canoe trail. Join a naturalist on a paddle along this winding waterway. Look for green heron, snapping turtles, and beaver.
