In the 1900s, Beaver Lake was owned by Judge Vann. Through conservation efforts he tried to make the lake more inviting for Canada Geese and other waterfowl. He created a series of narrow canals through the swamps on the west side of Beaver Lake. Today one is used as a canoe trail. Join a naturalist on a paddle along this winding waterway. Look for green heron, snapping turtles, and beaver.
